Merrow C of E Infant School

Where children matter most

Welcome Message

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. Our website will give you a flavour of Merrow Infant School and how 'Together we Grow' to provide high quality care and education for all.

We are so proud of our wonderful infant school; we have dedicated staff, supportive parents, strong governors and of course, happy, hard-working children. We want children to develop a love of learning in all ways at our school and have huge fun in doing this. Every day brings new exciting challenges and opportunities for our children both in our well resourced classrooms and our extensive outdoor environment.

At the heart of our school are the relationships we build with our children, their families and the wider community of Merrow. We take time to get to know all the children as individuals so that we can support them in reaching their fullest potential.

We offer a warm and caring environment to nurture our young children, encourage their independence and foster resilience as they grow and develop; we equip our children with the skills to be motivated and confident learners. As a Church of England school, Christian and British values form a core part of our ethos and permeate our lives at school.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. All staff recruitment and appointments, school policies and procedures prioritise the safeguarding of children.

We hope that our website will give you an idea of what a special, warm and welcoming school we are, or come and see for yourself by making an appointment to visit. We look forward to welcoming you to our fantastic school.

Best wishes
Louisa Dormer - Head Teacher

"The warm welcome, the clear passion for teaching, the care of the children, the juxtaposition of the original school building with modern playground and delightful, brightly coloured classrooms, all gave this little gem of a school the Wow factor."
